This trademark song by Bugs is performed live at BBs Jazz, Blues and Soups of St Louis in the spring of 2006. Henderson went from small clubs to playing on stage, opening for artists such as the Allman Brothers, B.B King, and Leon Russell. Bugs and his love for blues got tired of the wide-open riff-oriented rock. Bugs has played with guitar icons such as B.B. King, Freddie King, Eric Clapton, Ted Nugent, Roy Buchanan, and James Burton. To this day, Bugs' guitar hangs in Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas.
This band rocks in the great tradition of guitar crunching legends and has earned them their reputation as the "workingman's rock band". The band is Brian Henneman - guitar/ vocals, Mark Ortmann - drums, John Horton - guitar, and newest and final member, Keith Voegele - bass/vocals.
Another smoking performance by Michael Buks and company, performed at BBs in December of 2007. "Talk Don't Bother Me" shows a side of MB's songwriting that tells of his roots in traditional R&B as well as blues. As always ,the foundations of Michaels songs are the true stories and experiences from his roots in rural Arkansas.
St. Louis-based Dogtown Allstars was formed in 2003, building on the resurgence of 60/70s era soul jazz and funk style music, and do it solely to make people move their feet and shake their tails. http://www.dogtownallstars.com/
Performed Live at BBs in the spring of 2006, " Can't Keep From Crying" exempifies songwriter Jim Byrnes' grasp of the roots of the Blues as well as a rough edged but commanding understanding of the roots of gospel. Recognized by many as the award-winning actor, Jim is equally known as a staple of the St Louis Blues scene. See the interviews where Jim shares his experience and tells stories about growing up around the great performers in St Louis and East St Louis.
